- Haemaphysalis longicornis — Asian longhorned tick
- Tick Treatment and Control (Aid) — 12 Weeks: Indicated as an aid in the treatment and control of:
- Ixodes scapularis — Black-legged tick (Deer tick), the primary vector of Lyme disease in Canada
- Rhipicephalus sanguineus — Brown dog tick

Bravecto Active Ingredients
- Fluralaner: A member of the isoxazoline-substituted benzamide derivative class of ectoparasiticides. Works by antagonising GABA-gated and glutamate-gated chloride channels at the neuromuscular junction of fleas and ticks, causing uncontrolled neuronal activity leading to paralysis and death. Fluralaner has significantly greater affinity for invertebrate receptors compared to mammalian receptors.
- Action Mechanism: Fluralaner is absorbed into the bloodstream after oral administration and distributes systemically. Fleas and ticks must attach to the dog and begin feeding to be exposed. Peak concentrations are reached within 2 hours to 3 days after dosing; the elimination half-life of 9 to 16 days supports the 12-week dosing interval. Must be given with food for adequate absorption.
Bravecto Dosage & Administration
- Dose: One chewable tablet administered orally once every 12 weeks (every 3 months), selected by the dog's body weight:
- Yellow: 2 to 4.5 kg / 4.4 to 9.9 lbs, 112.5 mg (DIN 02425068)
- Orange: 4.6 to 10 kg / 10.1 to 22 lbs, 250 mg (DIN 02425076)
- Green: 10.1 to 20 kg / 22.2 to 44 lbs, 500 mg (DIN 02425084)
- Blue: 20.1 to 40 kg / 44.2 to 88 lbs, 1000 mg (DIN 02425092)
- Pink: 40.1 to 56 kg / 88.2 to 123 lbs, 1400 mg (DIN 02425106)
- Should be given with food. Absorption is significantly reduced in the fasted state.
- Year-round use: Continuous, uninterrupted year-round treatment is recommended in areas of ongoing flea and tick risk.
- Regional note: Due to geographic and climate variations across Canada, the distribution of tick species and abundance of flea and tick infestations is variable and evolving. A comprehensive dosing plan based on regional risk assessment and your pet's travel history is recommended — consult your veterinarian.
- Missed dose: Administer Bravecto immediately and resume the every-12-week schedule from that date.
- Storage: Do not store above 30°C.
Bravecto Safety & Side Effects
- Most frequently reported adverse reaction (field study): Vomiting. No serious adverse reactions were observed in the field study.
- Neurological warning — isoxazoline class: Fluralaner has been associated with tremors, ataxia (incoordination), and seizures in dogs, including dogs with no prior history of neurological disease. Use with caution in dogs with a history of seizures or neurological disorders.
- Contraindication: Do not use in dogs with known or suspected hypersensitivity to fluralaner or any component of the product.
- Breeding, pregnant, or lactating dogs: Safe use has not been evaluated. Consult your veterinarian before use.
- Puppies under 6 months: Bravecto has not been shown to be effective for 12-week duration in puppies less than 6 months of age.
