Is Beam TelePet the same team as Beam Pharmacy?

No. Beam TelePet and BEAM Pharmacy are separate teams that work in partnership. Beam TelePet provides veterinary telemedicine services through licensed veterinarians, while BEAM Pharmacy provides pharmacy services, including dispensing and delivering medications when a prescription is issued.

Are Beam TelePet's veterinarians licensed?

Yes. Every vet is independently licensed and in good standing with the College of Veterinarians of Ontario (CVO) or British Columbia (CVBC).

Do I need a new account, or does my Beam Pets account carry over?

Accepted Answer

You'll need to create a separate Beam TelePet account. It's a different platform from Beam Pets, so your login doesn't carry over. Other than sending your prescription to Beam Pets when one's issued, the two platforms don't share any of your information.

Can the veterinarian prescribe medication during a video visit?

Yes, when the veterinarian determines that prescribing is appropriate based on their assessment and applicable professional requirements.

Can a vet renew my pet's prescription without an in-person exam?

In some cases, yes. A veterinarian may be able to renew your pet’s prescription through a virtual consultation, depending on your pet’s medical history, condition, and medication. The veterinarian will determine whether a virtual assessment is appropriate or if an in-person examination is needed.

Many non-emergency concerns can be assessed through a video visit, including minor health concerns, skin and digestive issues, behavioural concerns, preventative care, prescription renewals, and pre-travel anxiety. The veterinarian will determine whether virtual care is appropriate and whether medication can be prescribed.

No. Beam TelePet is designed to complement your pet’s regular veterinary care, not replace it. It is a convenient option for suitable non-emergency concerns and virtual consultations. For emergencies or conditions requiring hands-on examination, testing, or treatment, please visit an in-person veterinary clinic.
