Control of Pruritus (Itching): Indicated for the management of itching associated with allergic dermatitis (e.g., food allergies, flea allergy dermatitis) in dogs.
Atopic Dermatitis Management: Used for the long-term control of chronic skin inflammation.
 
Zenrelia Tablets Active Ingredients
Ilunocitinib: A non-selective Janus Kinase (JAK) inhibitor.
Mechanism of Action:
It works by blocking specific signaling pathways (JAK-1, JAK-2, and TYK2) used by cytokines.
These cytokines are the chemical messengers responsible for triggering the sensation of "itch" and the physical "inflammation" in the skin.
By interrupting these signals at the cellular level, Zenrelia breaks the itch-scratch cycle without the broad systemic side effects typical of traditional steroids.
 
Zenrelia Tablets Dosage & Administration
Recommended Dosage: Standardized at 0.6–0.8 mg/kg of body weight.
Frequency: Administered once daily (24-hour intervals). Unlike some other allergy medications, it does not require a "loading dose" or twice-daily start.
Administration:
Oral Tablet: Can be given with or without food.
Unflavoured/Hypoallergenic: The tablets are formulated without common animal-protein flavorings to ensure safety for dogs on strict hypoallergenic diets.
Weight Adjustments: Available in multiple strengths (e.g., 4.8 mg, 6.4 mg, 8.5 mg, and 15 mg) to allow for precise dosing based on the dog's weight.
