Advantage II Main Uses

  • Monthly topical flea treatment and prevention for cats; kills adult fleas and controls flea eggs and larvae to break the flea life cycle; help manage flea allergy dermatitis (FAD) and skin infections caused by flea bites.
  • Acts on contact so fleas do not need to bite to die; useful in homes with active infestations to reduce environmental stages carried on the cat’s coat.
  • Killing adult fleas within 2 hours of application, with continuous protection for 28 days

Advantage II Active Ingredients

  • Imidacloprid (9.1%): Kills adult fleas through contact on the skin/coat oils without systemic absorption, leading to paralysis and death of fleas.
  • Pyriproxyfen (0.46%): Insect growth regulator that prevents development of eggs and larvae; shed fur/skin can distribute minute amounts in the environment to disrupt the life cycle in the home.
  • The product is not absorbed into the bloodstream but remains locked in the oils of the cat's skin and quickly spreads across the entire skin surface.
