⚠️ Important Shipping & Storage Information

  • Caninsulin requires refrigeration. Each order is carefully packed with an insulated kit and ice packs to help maintain temperature. We offer same-day delivery for local orders. Non-local orders are shipped by expedited service to minimize transit time, and an additional shipping fee applies for temperature-controlled packaging and priority handling.

  • However, despite these precautions, there remains a risk of temperature excursion during transit. In the event of courier delays, Caninsulin is stable at room temperature (below 25°C) for up to 28 days (as per manufacturer). Please note that we are unable to refund or replace products that require refrigeration.

  • Important: To prevent temperature-sensitive products from being held in courier warehouses over the weekend, refrigerated items will not be shipped on Thursdays or Fridays. Orders containing such items will be shipped the following Monday to ensure product integrity.

Caninsulin Main Uses

  • Caninsulin is an intermediate-acting insulin used to manage diabetes mellitus (sugar diabetes) in dogs and cats by controlling hyperglycemia (high blood glucose levels) associated with the disease.
  • It helps pets use glucose properly for energy, reducing clinical signs of diabetes such as excessive drinking, urinating, hunger, weight loss, and potential complications.
  • Caninsulin can be administered via U-40 insulin syringes or the VetPen injection device for ease of use.

Caninsulin Active Ingredients

  • Porcine insulin zinc injection 40 IU/mL; highly purified porcine insulin as a suspension of approximately 35% amorphous zinc insulin and 65% crystalline zinc insulin (lente formulation)
  • Replaces deficient insulin to facilitate cellular glucose uptake and reduce blood glucose

Caninsulin Dosage & Administration

  • Dosing is individualized by a veterinarian; start dose is calculated by body weight and adjusted using clinical signs and serial blood glucose curves; use only U‑40 insulin syringes or compatible pen cartridges.

Caninsulin Safety & Side Effects

  • Common concerns: Hypoglycemia signs include weakness, confusion, dizziness, seizures; mild cases may be managed with food, and severe cases with oral dextrose/corn syrup or IV dextrose under veterinary care.
  • Cautions: Stabilize severely ketoacidotic, anorexic, or vomiting animals with short‑acting insulin before transitioning; maintain consistent diet, routine, and exercise; store refrigerated 2–8°C, upright, protected from light, and never freeze
  • Duration of use: Intended for chronic, ongoing management of diabetes with periodic veterinary re‑evaluation.
  • Treatment does not cure diabetes but controls symptoms and prevents life-threatening complications.
